Welcome to the website of West Oxfordshire Sports Dinners Club!

The West Oxfordshire Sports Dinners Club was set up to promote a sports dinner within West Oxfordshire and raise funds to benefit various local sports clubs and individuals, assisting in there development, promoting there sport, encouraging other young people and giving them an opportunity to participate in there sport.

Sports Dinner 2013

The 15th west oxfordshire sports dinner will be again held at Witney Lakes Resort on friday 22nd february 2013.

Our Guest Speakers Will Be:

Steve Daley Joined Wolverhampton Wanderers football club at the age of 15, signed by the manager Bill McGarry and signed as a professional in the 70/71 season. He made his debut against Southampton, scoring a goal in a 4-2 victory.
He represented England at youth level and was chosen for the UEFA World Youth Championships, beating Poland in the final 2-1.
He gained further success by gaining 15 England B caps.
In September 1979 he joined Manchester city for then a British transfer fee of £1,437,500 on a ten year contract but left after 2 years.
He then joined Seattle Sounders in America, playing alongside Alan Hudson, Bruce Rioch and Kenny Hibbitt.
He was named in the 1982 and 83 NASL All star team which included players such as Beckenbaur, Carlos Alberto, Pele and George Best which was a fantastic honour, before moving back to England at Burnley under the manager John Bond before finishing his league football at Walsall in 1986.

Jed Stone is our comedian for the evening, a most versatile comedian and entertainer.
He has appeared in Sky TV's The New Comedians, Central TV's joker in the pack, Pot of Gold, My Kind People, Sky Sports and even Match of the Day and won BBC 2's The Weakest Link which left Anne Robinson speechless for once.
He also appeared at the Labour Party Conference at Blackpool in 2002 with Tony Blaire and Bill Clinton in attendance and is hired regularly by such major U.K. companies as The Royal Bank of Scotland, British Telecom and Volvo trucks to mention just a few.

The evening will again be black tie.

Many thanks for supporting our 10th Dinner on Friday 24nd February 2012.
We are pleased to announce that the evening raised £2,640.00 for the Charity.
